CDBG Neighborhood Development Grants

The MTRCOG writes and administers CDBG Neighborhood Development grants large product phototo demolish dilapidated homes in the Mark Twain region. These grants provide money to aid in the process of removing slum and blight that pose a significant threat to the health and safety of residents.

Who is Eligible for a CDBG Demolition Grant?

Cities under 50,000 in population and counties under 200,000 are eligible to apply for a CDBG grant administered by the State of Missouri. Cities and counties over this limit are considered "entitlement" communities and receive funds directly from HUD. Entitlement communities include Columbia, Florissant, Independence, Jefferson City, Jefferson County and the cities within Jefferson County that have elected to participate in the County entitlement programs, Joplin, Kansas City, Lee's Summit, O'Fallon, Springfield, St. Charles, St. Joseph, St. Louis (city), St. Peters City, and St. Louis County and the cities within St. Louis County that have elected to participate in the County entitlement programs.
