Homeland Security Regionalization Framework

In an effort to maximize the return on investments of future homeland security grants in Missouri and increase efficiencies in program management, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and Office of Homeland Security (OHS) have partnered with Missouri's regional planning commissions on a Homeland Security Regionalization initiative. MACOG, SEMA and OHS have been organizing Regional Homeland Security Oversight Committees around the state designed to collectively as a state, embrace a seamless, unified approach to future planning, training, and equipment purchases. The Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments has been selected as the lead RPC for the State Troop B region. “The U.S. Department of Homeland Security encourages states to regionalize their Homeland Security efforts. Missouri is at the forefront of creating this more effective regional model,” said Randy Railsback, President of MACOG and Executive Director of the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission.
