Transportation

  Transportation is a very important issue concerning any rural area.  The Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments works closely with MoDOT and its members to maintain and improve the Mark Twain regions transportation system. The MTRCOG helps communities improve their transportaiton systems through MODOT Enhancement grants, and holding Transportation Adisory Committee (TAC) meetings to discuss the areas transportaiton needs. Additionally, the MTRCOG helps promote safety by administering the Mark Twain Lake Chamber of Commerce Motorcycle Safety Classes and as a member of the NE Blueprint Committee, which is dedicated to reduce Missouri road way fatalities. Currently, the MTRCOG is in the process of creating a Regional Tranportation Plan (RTP) to identify the areas transportation needs and recommendations. The RTP will be completed in three yearly phases. Each phase will be posted on this website as they are completed.
